Travelodge is one of the leading budget hotel brands in the UK, with over 600 hotels in the UK, Ireland and Spain. And, if you know how to find them, Travelodge offers many rooms for less than £39 a night. So whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, a business trip, or a spontaneous adventure, here’s how you can score one of those coveted, cheap £39 hotel rooms at Travelodge.
Book in Advance
With Travelodge, you can book up to 325 days in advance, and their pricing strategy rewards early birds. Booking your stay several months in advance can significantly increase your chances of securing a £39 room. Use the Pricefinder tool on the Travelodge website to find the best deal for your destination.
Stay Midweek
Weekend stays often come with a premium price tag due to higher demand. Opt for midweek stays from Monday to Thursday when room rates are generally lower. Your chance of finding a £39 hotel room at Travelodge is best when you stay on quiet days such as Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Be Flexible with Dates and Locations
Flexibility is key. Use Travelodge’s flexible search options to explore different dates and locations. Sometimes, shifting your stay by a day or two or choosing a nearby Travelodge instead of one in a prime location can unlock the elusive £39 rate.
Sign Up for the Travelodge Newsletter
Stay ahead of the game by subscribing to Travelodge’s newsletter. Subscribers receive exclusive deals, early access to sales, and promotional offers directly in their inboxes. Being in the loop can give you a head start on grabbing the best rates.
Book Direct
Hotel booking sites often charge a premium for a stay, so the best rates come from booking directly. Travelodge says the best rates will always be found by booking directly on their website.
Consider Less Popular Locations
While major city centres and tourist hotspots command higher prices, Travelodge hotels in less popular or suburban areas often have more competitive rates. Exploring the outskirts or secondary locations can lead to big savings, However, bear in mind that some of these Travelodges may not have restaurants so if you are counting on that unlimited breakfast, be sure to check the facilities in the hotel you choose.
Travel Off-Peak
Travelodge’s rates are highly dynamic and influenced by demand. Travelling during off-peak periods, such as outside school holidays, major events, or the summer season, can significantly lower prices.
Breakfast at Travelodge
A third of Travelodges have restaurants known as Bar Cafes These serve food throughout the day and evening Travelodge with Bar Cafes offer an unlimited breakfast to rival the one at Premier Inn, which you can book at the same time as your room or pay for on the day.
Beware of the breakfast box offered at hotels with no breakfast facilities. At £ 5.50, it is appalling value for money. It contains a pot of Kellogg’s Cornflake, some milk, a small carton of orange juice, a pan au chocolate, and, recently, an oaty flapjack. These items would cost significantly less if you were to grab them from any nearby shop, so we most definitely do not recommend Travelodge Breakfast To Go.
Can I Really Get £39 Hotel Rooms at Travelodge?
Travelodge says it is offering over 2.5 million hotel rooms for £39 or less for stays between now and 24 July 2025. So, we thought we would put it to the test.
We booked a twin-bed hotel room for one night, midweek, in a hotel in North Wales in January 2025 for the fantastic price of just £29. The hotel is near the ferry terminal to Ireland, so this would be a perfect stopover if you were planning an Irish getaway.
We also used the Pricefinder tool and found excellent value stays in Leeds on a Sunday in December for just £26. You can even find hotel rooms for under £39 in London if you are prepared to stay a little way out of Central London. And even Central London isn’t entirely out of budget if you stay on a Sunday. The cost of a stay at Central London Tower Bridge Travelodge dropped from £140 on the Saturday night to just £51 on the Sunday.
