Hello, and welcome to my website. I’m Mrs Thrifty, and I’m passionate about saving you money.
I became thrifty more by necessity than choice. I moved into my first house at the age of 18. During those lean years, I frequently had much more month than money! I became an expert on stretching my meagre finances more from necessity than desire. I ate some bizarre concoctions, made my cleaning products, and became very good at sniffing out bargains. Keeping the wolf from the door became a full-time occupation.
I then went to university where my thrifty skills were very useful in making the most of a student budget, I graduated with a BA Hons in the humanities and then qualified as a teacher in adult education. Teaching people to build everyday life skills such as literacy, numeracy and basic cooking skills is very rewarding. I also worked as an advocate in a mental health setting, assisting people to manage their money and finances and to make the most of their budget.
I’m now officially middle-aged and live in the not-very-sunny Midlands with a badly trained dog and a reasonably well-trained husband. I have written several books including the popular School Dinners Recipe Book rated 4,8/5 on Amazon.
